Letter to the Editor: 'A Public Thank You'

The Bowie Police Department would like to who participated in our fourth annual Toys for Tots donation drive, which was sponsored in conjunction with the United States Marine Corps.

Donations were received from numerous sources in the community including city employees, businesses, neighborhood watch organizations, community groups and individual citizens. Thanks to your tremendous efforts and support we were able to collect more than 2,500 toys! The toys were distributed to children throughout Bowie and Prince George’s County. We are very pleased with the success of the 2011 toy drive. 

This is just another example of the generosity of our community and the collaboration between the Bowie Police Department and the citizens of Bowie. It is always extremely rewarding to work together for such a good cause. Thank you again for your continued assistance and support in making the 2011 Toys for Tots toy drive a successful event.
