Man Charged After Girlfriend's Remains Found In His Capitol Heights Home: PGPD
A Capitol Heights man has been charged in connection to the death of his girlfriend whose remains were found in his home, police say.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A Capitol Heights man has been arrested and charged in connection to the murder of his girlfriend at his home.
On Jan. 18, the Metropolitan Police Department contacted the Prince George’s County Police Department for help with a missing persons investigation. Alexis Schuler, 29, of Washington, D.C., had been reported missing to the MPDC last week. On Jan. 19, the PGPD executed a search warrant at the home of Devontae Gray, 30, located in the 700 block of Larchmont Avenue in the town of Capitol Heights, according to the PGPD.
While in the house, PGPD detectives, evidence team members and the Prince George’s County Fire Department found Schuler’s remains. Gray had attempted to hide Schuler’s body in his home. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has determined the victim had been shot, the police department shared.

Gray was taken into custody at the scene and has confessed to murdering Schuler. Detectives believe he killed her during an argument. He has charged with first-degree murder and related charges, and is in custody.
