Man Faces Up To 25 Years After Police Found Him With Gun, Fentanyl

A man faces up to 25 years after Prince George's Police found with a loaded gun as a felon and with 30 bags of fentanyl.

TEMPLE HILLS, MD — After a five-day trial, a federal jury returned a verdict against Timothy Darren Proctor, 40, and found him guilty of felon in possession of a firearm, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and possession of a firearm in furtherance of his drug trafficking crime.

According to the evidence presented at trial, on July 10, 2021, at approximately 1:31 p.m., Prince George's police officers were called to a location in Temple Hills due to a suspicious occupied vehicle that was parked in the area. Officers found Proctor unresponsive in the driver's seat with the windows up and the doors locked. Officers banged on the windows to wake up Proctor. He eventually woke up and got out of the vehicle. Officers saw and retrieved a clear bag hanging from Proctor’s front pocket, which contained approximately 10 grams of fentanyl, according to court documents.

Proctor also had a firearm with him, which was located inside the center console of the vehicle. The firearm was loaded with 13 40mm caliber cartridges in the magazine and one in the chamber.
Once at the jail, officers found another clear zipped bag containing 29 small clear bags, which also contained fentanyl. Proctor had the firearm in connection to his fentanyl drug trafficking, but having prior felony convictions, he was not to have it, according to court documents.

Proctor faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in federal prison for felon in possession of a firearm; a maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl; and a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and a maximum sentence of life in federal prison for possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. A sentencing has not yet been scheduled.
