LAUREL, MD — A Laurel man has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to robbing a convenience store with a gun while his co-conspirators broke into an ATM, stealing about $35,000.
According to his guilty plea, Marquis Hayes Henderson, 24, and four other co-conspirators met April 29, 2022, at a Clinton storage lot before driving a stolen vehicle to a nearby convenience store. Henderson pointed a firearm at an employee outside the store before ordering the worker to go inside and lay down in one of the aisles.
Another co-conspirator entered the store with a power tool and broke open the store’s ATM. The second thief worked with a third suspect to take $35,020 in cash from the ATM. The trio joined the other two co-conspirators who were waiting in the stolen vehicle before fleeing.
