Mobile Groceries Come To Prince George's, Offer Affordable Prices
A mobile grocery truck is coming to Prince George's County. The store on wheels will serve areas without easy access to a supermarket.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Prince George's County officials on Wednesday announced a mobile grocery store that will serve areas without easy access to a supermarket. The effort hopes to address food deserts across the county.
The grocer will be set up in a truck, and it will offer curbside shopping. The initiative, called Curbside Groceries, will sell fresh food at affordable prices. The shop will have everything from fruits and vegetables to dairy and protein.

These leaders outlined the plan at a press conference outside Iverson Mall in Hillcrest Heights:
- Angela Alsobrooks: Prince George’s County executive
- Radha Muthiah: President and CEO of the Capital Area Food Bank
- Todd Turner: Prince George’s County Council member for District 4
- Dr. Arethusa Kirk: National senior medical director of UnitedHealthcare Community & State
- Ira Kress: President of Giant Food
