Kenhill Center May Open to Nonprofits

The Bowie City Council is considering a proposal to rent some space in the former town hall to area nonprofits.

Local nonprofits may soon have a new and affordable leasing option in the city of Bowie.

Though the former Bowie City Hall on Kenhill Drive currently houses several city offices, the council is considering a proposal to lease about 4,000 square feet of the building, likely to nonprofit organizations, according to a report in  the Gazette.

The Greater Bowie Chamber of Commerce relocated their offices to the Kenhill Center earlier this month. Chamber Executive Director Kelly Pierce told the Gazette that the organization is paying around $760 for about 900 square feet of space.

If the Bowie City Council approves the proposal at Monday’s meeting, the city may begin soliciting nonprofits for the space as early as the spring, according to the Gazette.
