A huge meteor streaked across the sky above the D.C. region Tuesday night, and a Prince George's County Police officer captured some pretty amazing footage of it with his dashcam (embedded below).

The officer was driving down the road on normal patrol when the meteor suddenly emerged right in front of him, streaking from left to right before fizzling out near the horizon.

The meteor reportedly was seen over the skies of D.C. and 12 states. It flew North to South and ended over the Atlantic Ocean near Bethany Beach, Delaware.
