Police Kill Male At National Harbor Who Stabbed 2, Lit Apartment On Fire: Chief
The victims were in critical condition and the blaze displaced 14 people, according to authorities.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A male was shot and killed Sunday by police at National Harbor after he stabbed two people and set fire to an apartment in Fort Washington, according to Prince George’s County authorities.
The incident began around 8:20 a.m. when officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 8300 block of Indian Head Highway and discovered a man and woman with critical injuries, Prince George’s County Police Chief Malik Aziz said at a news conference streamed on Facebook.
The attacker, who knew the victims, set the apartment ablaze, the chief said. The fire at the three-story building displaced 14 people, six of whom are children, according to the county fire department. The victims were in critical but stable condition as of later Sunday, Aziz said, characterizing the stabbing as domestic in nature.

Almost two hours after the stabbing and fire, officers responded around 10 a.m. to 911 calls about an armed person at National Harbor, where they encountered a male — believed to be connected to the earlier stabbing — with a knife at St. George Boulevard and Potomac Passage, Aziz said.
The male moved toward police and two officers discharged their guns, hitting the male, who was taken to a hospital, where he died a short time later, according to Aziz, who said no officers were hurt.
