Prince George's County Public Schools Help Hurricane Harvey Victims
Prince George's County Public Schools is supporting Houston students by donating backpacks filled with school supplies and raising money.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Prince George's County Public Schools is supporting Houston students by donating backpacks filled with school supplies and raising money for additional financial support.
PGCPS will donate 2,000 backpacks to the Houston Independent School District through the Hearts With Houston campaign. School officials also set a goal of raising $132,000—which is $1 for every PGCPS student—for Houston public schools.
Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kevin M. Maxwell has challenged superintendents in neighboring Maryland school districts and across the nation to join in on supporting Houston students.

Students and families are asked to visit the campaign page to donate. These funds will immediately support those whose lives have been devastated by the storm, PGCPS officials said.

Aditionally, if your school or office would like to collect items for Houston students, there is an immediate need for children’s clothes in all sizes, school uniforms and school supplies. Please email communications@pgcps.org to let PGCPS know what you donate so they can recognize and track your efforts.
