PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Prince George's County Public Schools is supporting Houston students by donating backpacks filled with school supplies and raising money for additional financial support.

PGCPS will donate 2,000 backpacks to the Houston Independent School District through the Hearts With Houston campaign. School officials also set a goal of raising $132,000—which is $1 for every PGCPS student—for Houston public schools.

Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kevin M. Maxwell has challenged superintendents in neighboring Maryland school districts and across the nation to join in on supporting Houston students.
