Residents Remain Vigilant: Possible Rabid Fox Spotted At Driskell Community Park
Residents are asked to stay away from a possible rabid fox spotted at Driskell Community Park in Hyattsville and report any sightings.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A fox displaying symptoms of rabies was spotted in Driskell Community Park Tuesday.
The incident has bee reported to the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and a DNR officer will be patrolling the park this week, according to the city of Hyattsville.
Officials told residents to be aware of their surroundings when in Driskell Park and along the Northwest Branch Trail.

Animals displaying symptoms of rabies like unusually aggressive behavior or drooling should be immediately reported to the DNR Police 24-hour dispatch at 410-260-8540.
Hyattsville's largest park, David C. Driskell Community Park, is located at 40th Avenue and Hamilton Street and covers 32 acres. Park amenities include a recreation center, playground, playing fields, combination tennis and pickleball courts, pavilions and walking and biking paths.
