Severe Thunderstorm Watch In PG County: 70 MPH Winds, Hail Possible
A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect for Prince George's County until 8 p.m. Tuesday, forecasters said.
BOWIE, MD — A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect for Prince George's County until 8 p.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
The watch includes all of Prince Georges's County and several other counties in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, according to the NWS. Other affected counties and areas include Baltimore City, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Calvert, Caroline, Carroll, Cecil, Charles, Harford, Howard, Kent and Montgomery.

Forecasters said potential storms could spawn damaging 70 mph winds and ping-pong ball-sized hail.

A flood watch is also in effect for Prince George's and surrounding counties until 8 p.m., according to the NWS. Forecasters said excessive rainfall in the area could lead to flash flooding and excessive runoff, resulting in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying areas.
