Sobriety Checkpoint Scheduled In Prince George's County

The Maryland State Police and College Park Barrack will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Beltsville Friday, Sept. 1.

BELTSVILLE, MD — The Maryland State Police and College Park Barrack will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Beltsville Friday, Sept. 1.

The checkpoint will be held in the area of Md Rt. 1 South of Ammendale Road from 9-11 p.m., authorities said.

The goal of the checkpoint is to "educate drivers of the dangers associated with drinking and driving," police said. Police select specific locations for checkpoints based on data associated with alcohol related crashes and DUI arrests.
