Suspect In Fatal Shooting Of Rideshare Driver New Year's Day Arrested
The suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a rideshare driver New Year's Day has been arrested, police say.
COTTAGE CITY, MD — The suspect wanted in connection to a New Year's Day shooting has been arrested.
On Jan. 1 at approximately 10:40 p.m., Prince George's police officers were called to the 3300 block of Bladensburg Road where they found 36-year-old Oluwatosin Adetula of Hyattsville with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital for treatment but died of his injuries Jan. 7, according to police.
Detectives identified 21-year-old Brandon Leonard of Chantilly, Virginia, as the suspect. Adetula was working as a rideshare driver at the time of the shooting. Detectives believe the motive was robbery. The department's fugitive unit found Leonard in Winchester, Virginia, and he was taken into custody.

Leonard has been charged with first-degree and second-degree murder, and related charges.
