CLINTON, MD — The 25-year-old man accused of murdering three young girls in Clinton on Aug. 18 is competent to stand trial, a Prince George's County judge announced Thursday.
Antonio Williams, of Clinton, allegedly murdered his 6-year-old sister and two other little girls, who were relatives visiting from New Jersey, authorities say. The victims are his sister, Nadira Withers, and relatives Ariana Decree, 9, and Ajayah Decree, 6.
The triple homicide occurred in a house in the 6400 block of Brooke Jane Drive in Clinton Aug. 18. The Decree sisters were apparently visiting Clinton and on vacation. The Decree sisters are from Palm Street in Newark, and they are the daughters of the suspect’s mother’s cousin, police said.
The preliminary investigation reveals Williams had sole care and custody of the children at the home overnight into Friday. He has confessed to killing the victims. Detectives are working to establish a motive in this case, police said.
Williams is charged with three counts of first and second murder and related charges. He’s in custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
Counseling services were on the scene of the murder working with the first arriving officers, police said.
