17-Year-Old Charged In Fatal Shooting Of 29-Year-Old Temple Hills Man
A 17-year-old faces murder charges after police say he fatally shot a 29-year-old Temple Hills man.
TEMPLE HILLS, MD — A 17-year-old boy from Temple Hills has been charged in the fatal shooting of 29-year-old Harvey Jones Jr. of Temple Hills.
The teen has been charged as an adult, according to Prince George’s County Police.
On Dec. 27, 2024, at approximately 12:30 a.m., police officers were called to the 6100 block of Oxon Hill Road. Officers found Jones outside with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A preliminary investigation suggests the shooting was spurred by an argument. The police department said they have not been able to draw a connection between the suspect and victim. With the assistance of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office, the PGPD’s Fugitive Unit took the teen into custody in Calvert County.
The suspect has been charged with first- and second-degree murder and related charges. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
