PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A driver prosecutors say was responsible for the crash that killed Minnesota Vikings rookie Khyree Jackson and two of his former high school teammates was arrested Thursday and charged with 13 counts, including driving under the influence and criminally negligent vehicular manslaughter.

Cori Clingman, who was 23 at the time of the accident, remained in custody Thursday after the charges were announced. Clingman will have a bond hearing Friday, Prince George's County State's Attorney Aisha Braveboy said.

Clingman faces a maximum of 30 years in prison, Braveboy said during a news conference Thursday.

According to Maryland State Police, the crash happened shortly before 3:15 a.m. on July 6, 2024, along northbound Route 4 and Presidential Parkway near Dower House Road in Upper Marlboro.

Police said a silver Infiniti was traveling north on Route 4 when the female driver, later identified as Clingman, attempted to change lanes while speeding. According to police, she hit a Dodge Charger occupied by Jackson and two others before also hitting a Chevrolet Impala.

Following the collision, the Charger went off the road and crashed into multiple tree stumps before stopping, police said. Jackson was a passenger in the Charger, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Charger's driver — identified as Isaiah Hazel, 23, of Upper Marlboro — also died in the crash. A second passenger — identified as Anthony Lytton Jr., 24, of Upper Marlboro — was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

The driver of the Infiniti and two passengers were not hurt, police said. The driver of the Impala also was uninjured.

Braveboy said Thursday that she could not share many details because the investigation is ongoing. She did not reveal Clingman's exact blood alcohol content but confirmed it was at least above the legal limit of 0.08% in Maryland.

Jackson was chosen by the Vikings in the fourth round of the 2024 draft, according to ESPN. He played his final season of college football at Oregon. Hazel, 23, played at Maryland and Charlotte. Lytton, 24, played at Florida State and Penn State. All three were teammates at Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School in Upper Marlboro.
