Volunteers Needed To Help Clean Up Whitemarsh Park

Volunteers are needed to help remove English ivy from Whitemarsh Park. Cleanup days will be in October and registration is required.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Volunteers are needed to help Bowie's Green Team remove English ivy, an invasive species, from Whitemarsh Park. Fall cleanup days will happen Oct. 1 and Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Register now by contacting sustainability manager Ashleigh Diaz at adiaz@cityofbowie.org or by calling 301-809-3044. Be sure to register in advance, since these events are limited to just 30 participants each.

City officials note that participants must be 14 years and older. Volunteers 16 and younger will not be allowed to use large hand tools but will be allowed use smaller tools and assist with weeding.
