Arrest Made After Girlfriend's Body Found Wrapped in Plastic, Covered in Concrete

A man has been arrested after police say his live-in girlfriend's body was found wrapped in plastic and covered in concrete in their home.

SUITLAND, MD — The girlfriend of a Suitland man has been found in their apartment wrapped in plastic and covered in concrete, police say.

On April 24, Prince George's police officers conducted a welfare check at the couple's apartment, which is located in the 2300 block of Ewing Avenue. Officers found the body of 44-year-old Sherron Turner of Suitland enclosed in plastic and partially covered in concrete. Officers called homicide detectives to the scene to investigate, the police department stated.

On April 26, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined Turner died due to blunt force trauma. The manner of death was ruled a homicide. Based on the autopsy results and their investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Turner's live-in boyfriend, 38-year-old Michael McClanahan. He is currently in custody in Washington, D.C. The Metropolitan Police Department had arrested him on April 25 on unrelated charges, according to the Prince George's Police Department.
