Details: The Competition topic for this first competition of the club
year is Open: any subject, anywhere, taken anytime. The judge is Stan Klem.
You and Wee Signing Classes
When: Monday
Where: 2134 Espey Ct, Ste 15, Crofton
Details: Teach your baby to communicate using sign language.
BLING FOR A CAUSE-Special ZUMBA® Class for Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Awareness Month
When: Wednesday
Where: South Bowie Community Center, 1717 Pittsfield Ln., Bowie
Details: Grab your teal, purple and bling and Zumba for a cause. Cost is $6 and a new stuffed animal. Proceeds will go to Prince Georges Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Center.
Community Climate Action Series: Getting Smart on Climate Change
When: Wednesday
Where: Kenhill Center
Details: Joan Rohlfs from the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments will give a presentation about the impacts of climate change. Joe Meinert, the City’s Planning and Economic Development Director, will give a brief presentation about Bowie’s current status on its climate change efforts. A short discussion will follow after the presentations.
Bowie State University Comedy Show
When: Thursday
Where: AC Jordan Arena, Leonidas S. James Educational Complex
Details: Comedian Michael Blackson will perform.
Sugarloaf Crafts Festival
When: Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Where: Montgomery County Fairgrounds, 16 Chestnut St., Gaithersburg
Details: Now in its 39th year, the Festival invites art enthusiasts to meet the jury-selected artists and purchase unique items in functional and decorative pottery, sculpture, glass, jewelry, fashion, leather, wood, metal, furniture, home accessories, photography and fine art.
Tulip Gulch's NIGHTMARES Haunted House
When: Friday, Saturday
Where: Prince George's Stadium, 4101 Crain Highway
Details: This NEW Haunted House adventure is not for the faint of heart. The old, creaky gates of Prince George's Stadium open at 6:30 pm each show night and Haunted House tours begin at dusk.
Inspired Ghost Tracking
When: Friday
Where: 10620 Guilford Rd Suite 222 Jessup
Details: Join a paranormal group in Jessup that gets together to discuss things that go bump in the night.
Bowie State University Homecoming: Concert
When: Friday
Where: AC Jordan Arena, Leonidas S. James Educational Coomplex
Details: Bowie State hosts a can’t-miss homecoming concert, featuring hip-hop and R&B artists Lee Mazin, Juicy J, Meek Mill, Ace Hood, and K. Michelle. Tickets are $30 for students and $35 for general admission.
