(Update) Maryland Vs. Xavier: NCAA Basketball March Madness Final Score

(Updated at 9:03 p.m.) COLLEGE PARK, MD — The postseason run for the No. 6 seed University of Maryland hit a scoring drought Thursday night in the opening round of the 2017 NCAA Tournament with a 76 to 65 loss to No. 11 seed Xavier

What should have been March Madness turned into March Sadness for the Terps men's basketball team. The Terps played at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, and the game was shown live on TNT.

Maryland had hoped to improve its post-season play after being eliminated in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament by Northwestern, who won 72-64 on March 10.

Xavier's last game was against Creighton in the Big East Semifinals in New York City. The Musketeers lost 72-75 on March 10.

Maryland completed conference play with a 12-6 record, and Xavier with 21-13.

According to Testudo Times, Xavier recently lost their point guard and leading scorer Edmond Sumner to an ACL injury in January.

Maryland hasn't made it to the Final Four since winning the national championship over Indiana in 2002.
