Air Quality Alert Issued for Howard County, Region

The Maryland Department of the Environment has issued a Code Red air quality alert for the Baltimore metro area, which includes Howard County.
According to the National Weather Service, a Code Red air quality alert means air pollution concentrations make being outside unhealthy for the general population.
Residents are encouraged to avoid strenuous activity or exercise outdoors.

It’s also hot today, with temperatures reaching a high of 94 degrees.
