The BIG Shred Event Returns To Howard County With 4 Locations
Residents can shred up to three bags or boxes of paper at The BIG Shred event in November, which will offer four locations.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The BIG Shred will return to Howard County Nov. 9 with four shredding locations.
"As cases of identity theft and fraud continue to rise each year, I implore residents to take advantage of this big event to ensure their vital information remains protected," said Howard County Executive Calvin Ball.
The day of the event, each location will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until the trucks are full. They will be held at:

- Gary J. Athur Community Center, 2400 MD 97, Cooksville
- Long Gate Park & Ride, located off MD 100 Exit 1A in Ellicott City
- The overflow parking lot at Elkridge Landing Middle School, 7085 Montgomery Road in Elkridge
- North Laurel Community Center, 9411 Whiskey Bottom Road, Laurel
Howard County residents can bring up to three bags or boxes of paper to be shredded onsite. Residents are asked to only bring documents to shred that contain personal information, such as account numbers, passwords, PINs, signatures, Social Security numbers, date of birth. This includes federal and state tax documents, credit card and other household bills, medical records, pay stubs, mortgage documents and insurance bills.
