Columbia Association Board of Directors Election Guide

Patch sent out a questionnaire to candidates in contested 2013 elections for the Columbia Association Board here's how they responded.

 

Elections for Columbia Association's Board of Directors will take place on Saturday, April 20. This year there are four contested elections in the following villages: Long Reach, River Hill, Oakland Mills, and Wilde Lake.

Election time and location - April 20 and 27 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Stonehouse in Long Reach Village Center - 8775 Cloudleap Court, Columbia.

 

Oakland Mills

Alex Hekimian vs. Julia McCready

Election time and location: Saturday, April 20, 8:30am-5:00pm at The Other Barn in Oakland Mills Village Center - 5851 Robert Oliver Place, Columbia.


River Hill

Michael Cornell vs. Clayborne Chavers

Election time and location: Saturday, April 20, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Claret Hall - 6020 Daybreak Circle, Clarksville


Wilde Lake

Regina Clay vs. Nancy McCord

Election time and location: Saturday, April 20, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Slayton House - 10400 Cross Fox Lane, Columbia.

 

Uncontested Elections

Kings Contrivance - Board Chair Shari Zaret announced she will step down. Brian Dunn, current vice chair of the Kings Contrivance Village Board is running unopposed.

Harper's Choice - Incumbent Cynthia Coyle will continue to serve, it will be her second year of a 2-year term. Village elections will take place April 20. Village Board candidate statements.

Town Center - Incumbent Suzanne Waller is running unopposed. Village elections will take place 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, at the Gazebo in Vantage Point Road Park.

Dorsey's Search - Incumbent Tom Coale is running unopposed. All village board elections are also unopposed. There will be no polling.

Hickory Ridge - Incumbent Gregg Schwind is running unopposed. There are six candidates for five open seats on the Village Board. Elections will take place Saturday, April 20 at the Hawthorn Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will also be a flea market.

Owen Brown - Incumbent Andrew Stack is running unopposed, and there are less candidates than seats on the Village Board, therefore no elections will take place.

Correction: Originally this article stated Cynthia Coyle, of Harper's Choice, is running unopposed. In fact, she's not running at all, she will be serving out her second year of a 2-year term from 2013-2014. We regret the error.
