(Updated) Michael Kors Store to Open at Mall in Columbia
The new 1,959 square-foot space is scheduled to open in December 2011.

Michael Kors will be the newest retailer at , scheduled to open in December.
Kors, who was a judge on Project Runway, will be opening a store in a 1,959 square-foot space with men's and women's clothing and accessories on the second level next to , mall officials said.

The Kors store will locate in the space previously occupied by , which is relocating to another space in the wing of the mall, mall officials said. The Body Shop in its new location is expected to open in mid-October.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of Michael Kors’ fashion label, which began in 1981. Kors has many stores across the country, and internationally. In Maryland, he also has stores at the Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, Queenstown Premium Outlets, and Towson Town Center, according to his website.

“We are honored to have such a prolific and renowned designer here at The Mall In Columbia,” said General Manager Katie Essing in a press relelase. “From the red carpet to his role as judge on Project Runway, Michael Kors has been a symbol of fashion for years. The fact that he’s opening a store here is a testament to our broad shopping appeal.”
