Police Break Up 10 Illegal Car Rallies, Arrest 4 Teens And An 18-Year-Old

Police officers from several counties broke up 10 illegal car rallies Nov. 29-30 and arrested five teenagers, authorities said.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Four teens were arrested at a car rally held in Baltimore City Nov. 30, while 10 large illegal driving events were shut down by the Maryland Car Rally Task Force, authorities said Tuesday.

More than 300 people and vehicles were at one rally, shutting down the road.

From 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Nov. 29-30, officers broke up car rallies in Baltimore City, along with the counties of Baltimore, Anne Arundel, Howard and Prince George's, according to a news release from Maryland State Police.

Five arrests were made at one car rally in the 5100 block of Park Avenue in Baltimore, including four underage teens, during a traffic stop made during one rally in the 4400 block of Park Heights Avenue involving a possible stolen vehicle.

Police stopped a silver Nissan 350Z and the driver, Josue Emanuel Hernandez Cordon, 18, of Laurel, has been charged with reckless, aggressive and negligent driving, along with other traffic related offenses, and was investigated for possession of a replica firearm on his person.

At that same rally, police saw a stolen Nissan 370Z, which Baltimore police officers found after the driver had abandoned it and fled.

Police also seized a stolen black Camaro SS abandoned by four teens ages 15 to 17. Two firearms were recovered from the juveniles, along with the stolen vehicle police believe was used in other car rallies and possibly was involved in an armed robbery in Washington, D.C.
