2 Individuals Robbed, 2 Homes And 5 Businesses Broken Into: HCPD

Two individuals reported being robbed, while two homes and five businesses were broken into during a five-day period, the HCPD said.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Several businesses were broken into during the overnight hours between Dec. 5 and Dec. 9, and two individuals reported being personally robbed by suspects, according to the Howard County Police Department.

On Dec. 8 around 6:50 p.m. in the 6000 block of Foreland Garth, a man reported that another man assaulted him and stole his wallet, police said.

On Dec. 8 around 10 p.m. in the 8800 block of Columbia 100 Parkway, a woman reported that a woman she knew assaulted her then stole her purse. Howard County police officers arrived and arrested the suspect, identified as Monika Mullin, 50, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, who has been charged with robbery, assault and theft.

In the overnight hours of Dec. 5-6, the Crestmount Wine and Spirits, located in the 7900 block of Washington Boulevard in Jessup, reported a suspect(s) attempted to enter the building by breaking the window but wasn't successful. Crestmount Wine and Spirits reported a second break-in attempt in the overnight Dec. 8-9.

In the overnight hours of Dec. 7-8, Olde Tyme Liquors, located in the 13500 block of Triadelphia Road in Ellicott City, reported a suspect(s) broke into the store through the front door and stole cash, lottery tickets and cigarettes.

During that same timeframe, High's and Subway both reported a suspect(s) broke into the businesses through the front door of the stores and stole cash and cigarettes. Both businesses are located in the 12700 block of Frederick Road in West Friendship.

Tobacco Vape King, located in the 9200 block of Baltimore National Pike, reported being broken into Dec. 8-9. A suspect(s) broke a window and stole tobacco products, police said.

A suspect gained access to a Woodstock home through a basement window and stole jewelry. This incident happened Dec. 6 in the 10500 block of Hounslow Drive. Another home in the 6500 block of Quiet Hours, Columbia, was broken into during the overnight hours Dec. 6-7. Various items were stolen.


The Howard County Police Department notes that it does not publish all reports of police activity and this is a sampling of recent activity.
