3 Teens Killed in Clarksburg Wreck

CLARKSBURG, MD — Three Clarksburg High students were killed in a single-vehicle wreck Tuesday night, according to Montgomery County Police.

Jacob Tyler Dennis, 17, of the 15400 block of Barnesville Road in Boyds and Patrick Andrew Shifflett, 18, of the 9100 block of Charlie Farm Court in Laytonsville died at the scene. Cary Mauri’ce Greene, 17, of the 22500 block of Muscadine Drive in Clarksburg was transported to Suburban Hospital where he died.

At 11:36 p.m., Fire and Rescue responded to the 25300 block of Burnt Hill Road regarding the wreck.

According to police, Dennis was driving a black, 1989 Ford F-250 heading southbound approaching Kingstead Road when the truck left the roadway and struck a tree. Shifflett and Greene were passengers.

The cause of the wreck has not been determined.
