Rockville's Cliff Ngwafon Serves as Producer on Indie Short Film Being Shot in Pittsburgh

Cliff Ngwafon of Rockville is serving as a producer for a psychological thriller, “Exposures,” that is shooting this spring on location in Pittsburgh.

“Exposures” is the story of Harper, a former award-winning photojournalist, who has been reduced to blackmailing his neighbors. The lines between fantasy and reality begin to blur when Harper goes too far with his extortion, causing the ghosts of past subjects to come back to haunt him.

With support from a small-but-talented, hand-picked crew from across the country, the team launched an Indiegogo campaign that ends on Monday to raise the funds needed to make the film a reality.

Indiegogo is an international crowdfunding platform that enables filmmakers and others to raise funds to finance projects. The Exposures campaign can be found at www.indiegogo.com/projects/exposures-short-film. The campaign ends Monday, April 8, at 11:59 p.m.

A Washington, D.C. native now living in Rockville, Md., Producer Cliff Ngwafon has worked on a Bollywood film, in reality television and with commercials since graduating from The Los Angeles Film School, where he majored in screenwriting and producing. As a part of the “Exposures” team, he is looking forward to telling a story that interests him, as well as working with people who share the same vision.

Ngwafon, co-producer Robert Louis Love III of Los Angeles and "Exposures" co-writer/director Jonathan Gribbin of Pittsburgh have been collaborating since they met at The Los Angeles Film School.

Love and Gribbin have a short film “OnStar for Drunk Drivers” on the “Funny or Die” website. They also co-wrote the short film “Blast Off,” an official selection of the 2012 Three Rivers Film Festival in Pittsburgh that will be screened at the Colby College film festival later this month.

The team is also comprised of Anthony Alanis of Milwaukee as cinematographer; Zachary Lyons of Pittsburgh as production designer/editor; and Stephen Branagan of Chicago as camera operator. All of them, along with Ngwafon, Love and Gribbin, are graduates of The Los Angeles Film School in Hollywood, CA. In addition to being co-writer, Blackwell, a Pittsburgh native, will serve as co-producer of the short film.

To date, all of the films made by the Gribbin-Blackwell-Ngwafon-Love group, in whole or part, have had budgets thinner than a shoestring. The team is hoping that, through Indiegogo, they can raise enough money to support a $10,000 budget that will enable them to rent equipment, create their own special effects and provide other needed components to take this film to festivals around the country.

“Exposures” has a number of incentives for different donation levels, including a walk-on role, executive producer credit, product placement opportunities for businesses, a private screening party and more. Incentives begin at the $5 level.
