Germantown Student News: Congrats College Grads

A round up of local student latest accomplishments.

WEST HARTFORD, CT—Garrett Matthews of Germantown graduated from the University of Hartford during spring commencement weekend (May 18-19) and received a Bachelor of Music.

WESTMINSTER, MD—McDaniel College awarded more than 480 master's degrees May 25, 2013, at the College's 143rd Commencement.

  • Heather Candice Benson of Germantown graduated with a master's degree in Counselor Education.
  • Ashley E. Chandler of Germantown graduated with a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
  • Allison S. Allen of Germantown graduated with a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

Carine C. Pena of Germantown graduated with a master's degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.

Markia Lanee Davis of Germantown graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. 

KINGSTON, RI—Shawn E. Saiya of Germantown received a BA in Journalism and a BA in Political Science during the University of Rhode Island's 127th Commencement on Saturday and Sunday, May 18-19.

MADISON, NJ—Felicia Park of Germantown received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Drew University on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the university's 145th commencement. 

CHESTER, PA—Sarah Ross of Germantown received a master of social work degree during the commencement ceremony at Widener University on May 18. The university presented degrees to graduates from August 2012, December 2012 and May 2013 during the ceremony. 

ATLANTA—The Georgia Institute of Technology presented degrees to approximately 2,700 undergraduate and graduate students during the Institute's 245th commencement exercises in May. The following local students graduated:

  • Randy Caranza of Germantown received a BS in Chemical & Bio Eng
  • Man Fong of Germantown received a PhD in Aerospace Engineering

NORTH GRAFTON, MA.—Melissa Rothstein of Darnestown earned a Master of Science in Animals and Public Policy from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, which graduated 108 students at its 31st commencement ceremony May 19. 

HARRISONBURG, VA—Kristen Anna Cornelsen of Darnestown graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Math-BS from James Madison University during commencement exercises May 4. Cornelsen was among 3,600 students who received undergraduate, master's, educational specialist and doctoral degrees.

HARRISONBURG, VA—Kimberly Ann Bucholz of Germantown graduated with a degree in Computer Science InfSec-MS from James Madison University during the May 4 commencement exercises.

Bucholz was among 3,600 students who received undergraduate, master's, educational specialist and doctoral degrees.
