⢠Montgomery school leaders defend proposal to close county's sole charter (washingtonpost.com) â Germantown families should know that MECCA Business Learning Institute, the countyâs only charter school and newly relocated to a permanent Germantown campus, is at risk of having its charter revoked. Montgomery County school leaders say serious special-education compliance problems justify closure, while MBLI argues itâs being judged too harshly after just three months. A final school board vote is expected on January 22.

⢠Maryland Natural Resources Police Report: Fall 2025 (einpresswire.com) â State natural resources officers recently charged a Germantown resident and a Mount Airy man after they allegedly chased deer with an off-road vehicle during archery season and shot them with a handgun, leading to multiple hunting-related charges. The broader fall enforcement report details similar wildlife, fishing, and firearms violations investigated across Maryland from September through November 2025.
