Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued for Montgomery County

After several days of intense summer heat, Montgomery County residents may be in for heavy rain and strong winds on Friday evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch, in effect until 9 p.m. for central and western Maryland.

In Germantown, Saturday temperatures are expected ease to the mid 80s, the start of of a gradual cooling off. As of Friday afternoon, Tuesday's highs were forecast at a sunny 77.
