Olympic Gold Medalists Visit Kentlands Restaurant

Two members of the America's Olympic gold medal-winning women's soccer team, Lori Lindsey and Becky Sauerbrunn, were honored at Not Your Average Joe's in Kentlands on Friday, according to a news release.

Sauerbrunn is a defender for the Boyds-based .

Lindsey, a former member of the Washington Freedom, and Sauerbrunn were in the region for a charity soccer game during the August Cup Tournament, a youth tournament that promotes women’s soccer in the United States.

“The staff here enjoys its role in creating a home away from home for Kentlands," said Erik Larson, the restaurant's general manager. "To see young Kentlands boys and girls meet these gold medalists was inspiring, just as the Olympians inspired all of us.”
