With the forecast of inclement weather Jan. 11, Anne Arundel County Public Schools will close two hours early. All school-sponsored after-school activities scheduled also are canceled.
That includes the cancellation of the Board of Education’s scheduled public hearing Jan. 11 at Old Mill High School on the proposed fiscal year 2012 budgets.
The Board still plans to hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. Jan. 13 in the Board Room at the Parham Building in Annapolis. Individuals who would like to testify can sign up to speak at 6 p.m. and all speakers will have a three-minutes time limit.

The Board of Education is asking those who are unable to attend the Jan. 13 hearing and wish to comment on the budget to submit public testimony online through a link on the front page of the AACPS Web site. Online testimony will be accepted through Feb. 4 and made available to board members before the Feb. 9 meeting at which time the Board is expected to adopt its recommended budget which will then be forwarded to the county executive.
Additionally those who wish to send their comments directly to their Board member, they can find their e-mail addresses listed on the Board of Education page of the AACPS Web site.
