Local Army Reserve Mariners Return to Curtis Bay

Sixteen Army-reserve soldiers returned from their recent deployment to Kuwait and participated a Welcome Home Warrior Citizen Ceremony Friday morning in Curtis Bay.

The soldiers deployed in April 2010 and crewed the Landing Craft Utility 2013 Churubusco which transported various cargo around the Persian Gulf, according to a U.S. Army press release.

The ceremony is a program approved that honors all members of the Army Reserve who served in the "Global War on Terror." Each Army reserve soldier is presented an encased American flag, a specially-designed commemorative coin and certificate, a lapel pin set for the soldier and his or her spouse and a Welcome Home Warrior Citizen flag.
