Officer's Gun Stolen from Car in Towson

Baltimore County police say an Anne Arundel County police officer's service weapon was reportedly stolen on Friday.

Baltimore County police are asking for leads after an Anne Arundel County police officer's service weapon was stolen from his car last week.

The incident occurred Friday between 7:30 and 10:30 p.m in the 8800 block of Orchard Tree Lane, police spokeswoman Cpl. Cathy Batton said.

The officer was off duty, and kept his service weapon, a Sig Sauer P229, in the trunk of his personal car. When he returned to his car that evening, he found his driver's side window had been smashed out and the gun was missing from his trunk, Batton said.
