Gunshots Break Up Parking Lot Brawl: Police

The suspected shooter was found with 2 loaded guns and dozens of hits of Heroin, according to Anne Arundel Police.

Anne Arundel County Police has arrested a man suspected of shooting a gun last week at two large groups that appeared to be preparing to fight.

At 3 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to the area of 131 Warwickshire Lane regarding the shooting.

Investigators believe that two groups were arguing in the parking lot while holding baseball bats and sticks.

"During the altercation, a male was seen approaching from a black Nissan Altima and fired several gun shots at the group of people," according to a police statement.

No injuries were reported. The black Nissan Altima and the suspect were found Saturday.

Jamar James Brooks, 24, of Bowie, was taken into custody during a traffic stop. A search of the car revealed two loaded handguns and 43 capsules of heroin, according to police.

Brooks faces charges of attempted 1st degree murder and other related charges, as well as charges of possessing a handgun and possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute.
