Here are the top stories in Glen Burnie today:

  1. Two years after a 28-year-old Glen Burnie man was shot to death, the Anne Arundel County Police Department and FBI are still attempting to locate the suspect or suspects responsible for his death. Thursday marks the two-year anniversary of the death of Xavier John Arthur Green, who police said was shot multiple times in the 300 block of Morris Hill Avenue on Nov. 18, 2019. Law enforcement agents offered up a $20,000 reward earlier this year for information that would lead to the arrest of anyone involved in the shooting, but no arrests have been made. (Patch)
  2. On Nov. 17, police responded to the CVS Pharmacy in Glen Burnie for a robbery of the business. An employee advised a black male in a hoodie and sweatpants entered the employee area of the pharmacy. When confronted by the employee he began to throw items at her and implied he would use a gun if she interfered. The subject stole several bottles of medication and fled the scene. Robbery Unit detectives are investigating and asking anyone with any information to call the TipLine at 10-222-4700. (Anne Arundel County)
  3. StorageMart officially closes on the acquisition of two new facilities, one in Glen Burnie and the other in Rosedale, Maryland. This is a total of 131,345 net rentable square feet across the two properties with 1,407 storage units and 105 parking spaces. The new locations were acquired from former owners, Golden Ring and Ritchie Mini Storage, that ran under Mt. Royal Management and are now operating under StorageMart management. (PRNewswire)
  4. According to a new report from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, women are more likely to suffer serious personal injury and fatalities than men when they are involved in a car accident. In addition, although men get into more car accidents, women are more likely to be seriously injured. The IIHS found that the increased risk is associated with the type of vehicles that women tend to drive and the circumstances of the accident rather than the physical differences between men and women. Selecting a vehicle with a high safety rating can help reduce the risk of a serious car accident, including those that involve female motorists.(Lawyers.com Blog)
