Man Attacked During Attempted Armed Robbery In Glen Burnie: Police

Officers said they found the victim in Glen Burnie bleeding from an injury to his head, according to Anne Arundel County police.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A man is recovering from injuries sustained during an armed robbery attempt on Labor Day in Glen Burnie, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

On Monday, around 3:30 a.m., officers responded for a report of an attempted robbery that just occurred in the 7800 block of Crilley Road in Glen Burnie, the department said.

Once on scene, officers said they found the victim bleeding from an injury to his head. The victim indicated that while he was outside of the residence he was approached by a black male, who asked for a cigarette.

When the victim said “no," police said the suspect told the victim to empty his pockets.

When the victim refused the suspect produced a metal pipe/bar and swung it at the victim, striking him multiple times, according to police.

The suspect fled the area on foot without obtaining property from the victim. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
