  1. Anne Arundel County Police: Man charged with seriously stabbing another man at a Glen Burnie hotel. Anne Arundel County police said officers were called to the Extended Stay in Glen Burnie early Saturday for a report of an assault. A man intervened and separated the two parties, but as he walked away, police said Michael Byron of Gainesville, Georgia, approached him from behind and stabbed him. The man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. (Wtop News)
  2. Glen Burnie School District: The Board of Education of Anne Arundel County met on Monday, Oct. 18 at 6 p.m., in the Board Room of the Parham Building, located at 2644 Riva Road in Annapolis, to conduct a public workshop with Superintendent George Arlotto and AACPS staff about the ways in which civics and social issues are addressed in the classroom. This is the first in a series of workshops to take place this school year which will allow the Board to have more in-depth discussions with Dr. Arlotto and his staff on a variety of topics important to the education of the Anne Arundel County Public Schools students.
