Here are the top stories today in Glen Burnie:

  1. Medicare Supplement Plans For Baltimore City Residents: Johns Hopkins is terminating its Advantage MD plans for Medicare-eligible Baltimore City residents, forcing over 5,000 seniors to look elsewhere for reduced prescription drug prices and reasonable co-pays during the COVID-19 pandemic. The changes will reduce the service area available for seniors from 12 to 10 Maryland counties – Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, Howard, Montgomery, Somerset, Washington, Wicomico and Worcester. (Baltimore Brew)
  2. The Department Of Aging And Disabilities Announces Workshops: On Nov. 3 at 2 p.m., Mary Chaput, Family Caregiver Support Program director, will facilitate the Virtual Dementia Live Program. This is a virtual workshop and will be presented using the Zoom platform. The Virtual Dementia Live Program will also be presented in-person at the North County/Hein office (7320 Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie) on Nov. 15 at 6:30 p.m. The Dementia Live workshop is a high impact, dementia simulation experience that immerses participants into life with dementia, resulting in a deeper understanding of what it is like to live with cognitive impairment and sensory changes. Space is limited. Please call 410-222-4375 to register for either of the Dementia Live workshops. (Anne Arundel County)
  3. Jury Finds Glen Burnie Man Guilty: A Glen Burnie man has been found guilty of attempted first-degree murder and other charges for carjacking and punching a victim before fleeing, and then returning and hitting the victim with the car. A jury found Gerald Haigis, 47, of Glen Burnie guilty of attempted first degree murder, armed carjacking, armed robbery and first degree assault. (WabalTV)
