  1. A 2022 North County High School graduate wins first place in the "student poster competition at the NASA Exploration Science Forum." Dominic Alfinito presented his paper "Possible Causes of Hydration of Vesta's Oppia Crater." He received the highest scores for his research. (News Break)
  2. The 15-year-old "squeegee kid," who was accused of killing a man, has been indicted on first degree murder charges. The teen was arrested on July 7 in connection to the killing of 47-year-old Timothy Reynolds. (WBFF)
  3. Two men have been arrested in connection to a rape reported Friday, July 29. A witness came upon Jose Alexander Ortiz Urrutia, who was acting as a "look out," while Rubicel Montiel Lopez was assaulting the victim, police said. The victim was taken to the hospital. (News Break)
