Here are the top stories today in Glen Burnie:

  1. A Baltimore police detective has been charged after allegedly assaulting another officer at Chez Joey over the weekend. One of the bartenders informed officers that the two had refused to pay their tabs. During this time, officers say they observed the detective holding a BPD identification card. After pleading with the two for around half an hour, Detective Robert Burns reportedly became more irate as the incident went on and attempted to push, pull and grab his way out of the establishment through the officers. (wmar2news)
  2. A blood drive is being held in honor of a baby boy who continues to courageously battle brain cancer. His treatments have relied a lot on blood transfusions, due to the tendency of chemotherapy to destroy red cells and platelets. That motivated Hunter's aunt, Connor Bouchelle, to organize a Nov. 19 blood drive from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the North East VFW on Turkey Hill Road. (wmar2news)
  3. The State Board of Education will review its statewide mask mandate in a virtual meeting. There will be input from parents, educators and health officials. The agency still recommends students, staff, teachers and visitors to wear masks indoors, regardless of vaccination status. (CBSBaltimore)
