Glen Burnie: Home fire

Firefighters responded to a one-alarm blaze at a home in the 1600 block of Furnace Drive around 10:56 p.m. Sunday. It took firefighters a half hour to get the fire under control. There were no injuries and no cause or damage estimates are available.

Glen Burnie: Stabbing death

A man was stabbed and killed after getting into a .

James Anthony Liberto, 43, of Glen Burnie was stabbed in the torso and later died from his injuries after getting into a fight, police officials said. Roland Michael Long, 39, of Glen Burnie was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

Glen Burnie: Prostitution arrests

Police arrested one woman for prostitution and another for human trafficking Dec. 14 after soliciting an escort online.

The Anne Arundel County Vice Unit used an ad on Craigslist to set up an appointment between a detective and a woman at a Glen Burnie-area hotel. Once at the hotel, the Taneesha Danyel Dorsey, 25, of Glen Burnie solicited the detective for sex and charged an undisclosed amount of money for her services. She was arrested.

Investigation led to the arrest of Brandy Nicole Arnold, 23, of Glen Burnie, who police said drove Dorsey to the hotel. She was charged with human trafficking.

Brooklyn Park: Project Exile

Two men were arrested during an event between county police, the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services and the Division of Parole and Probation.

The event, called Project Exile and held at , required 13 offenders to attend and featured speakers from the U.S. State's Attorney's Office and the Anne Arundel County State Attorney's Office as well as county police and the Division of Parole and Probation.

At the end of the event, Terrell Johnson, 28, of Severn was arrested for driving without a license and Myron Jacobs, 24, of Annapolis was arrested with driving without a license as well as driving with a revoked license and on a suspended license.

Project Exile is an effort between federal and local prosecutors to address convicted felons involved in drugs and violent crimes.

Glen Burnie: Drug arrest

Police arrested a Glen Burnie man Dec. 14 for possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and other drug-related charges.

Police searched the home of Shawn Gregory Gaither, 32, after obtaining a search and seizure warrant. Detectives found about 29.45 grams of cocaine—which police estimate to be worth close to $3,000 on the street—a small amount of marijuana and $2,447 in cash. Police seized the drugs, cash and a 2005 Infiniti.

Gaither was charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana.
