Severn Woman Charged in Linthicum Stabbing

Police say Amanda Smallwood stabbed a man and assaulted another woman during an argument Monday night.

A Severn woman was charged with attempted murder following an altercation inside a home in Linthicum on Monday evening. 

Anne Arundel County police said they responded at about 10:20 p.m. to the 200 block of Minta Court and spoke with a 35-year-old male victim who said he had been stabbed. 

The victim told police that he got into an argument with Amanda Smallwood, 25, of Danza Road in Severn. Police said that sometime during the argument, Smallwood assaulted the victim's girlfriend, then stabbed the victim when he tried to intervene.

Police said the man suffered wounds to his upper torso and was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. 

Officers arrested Smallwood without incident. She was charged with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
