  1. Shots Fired In Glen Burnie: Residents living on both Continental and Candle Light were asked to stay indoors for about 45 minutes, as officers search for suspects. Just before 2 p.m., police announced that suspects were in custody and residents could resume normal activity. No injuries have been reported. (Fox Baltimore)

Pastor Paid Poor People To Marry Foreigners For U.S. Residency: A federal grand jury has indicted a man that prosecutors said paid poor people to marry people who wanted permanent residency in the United States. The grand jury charged Joshua Olatokunbo Shonubi, age 50, of Bowie, Maryland, for conspiracy to commit marriage fraud and visa fraud and for presenting false documents to a federal government agency, in connection with a scheme to fraudulently obtain permanent resident status for foreign nationals by arranging marriages to U.S. citizens.   3. 18 Glen Burnie Schools Among Best For Grades K-8: U.S. News & World Report: Fifteen elementary and three middle schools in Glen Burnie were ranked among the best in Maryland, according to a review released Oct. 12 by U.S. News & World Report. To determine the rankings, the outlet used statistics from the U.S. Department of Education to analyze two areas at each school, which are math and reading proficiency. (Glen Burnie Patch)
