Son Gives Mom Car It Took Him Six Days to Win (ICYMI)
A Prince George's County man who spent six days with his hands on a car, and won it, gave the vehicle to his deserving mother.

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MD — William Holmes loves his mom, that goes without saying.
He decided to man up and put his words into action – by winning his mother a new car. Even though his car has been out of commission for a month.
William, 32, of Mitchellville entered the Hyundai “Hands On” contest at the Washington Auto Show to show his mom, Margaret Holmes, 57, just how much she means to him, he told WTOP.

To have a shot at the prize, William had to spend five nights and six days at the Washington Convention Center. Margaret brought her son food and kept him company.
One of five finalists to last until the contest ended, William was the third contestant to select a key that would unlock his dream for his mother. After the endless hours of nearly continuous contact with the prize vehicle in the Washington Auto Show’s contest, William gave the key to the brand-new Hyundai Tucson to Margaret.

“I couldn’t think of a greater gift to give my personal hero than a stylish new means of transportation to aid her in assisting others within her community,” William wrote in his contest application essay.
His essay noted that his mother had purchased a used 15-passenger bus to help in her community outreach, which has included a host of activities and fund-raising activities for children and her church members such as fishing trips, sporting events and ladies tea parties.
