Driver Hits School Building, Dies: Police

LAUREL, MD — A 72-year-old Laurel man died after his vehicle hit St. Vincent Pallotti High School in Laurel Monday night.

According to the Laurel Police Department, the incident occurred shortly after 4 p.m. Monday. The Laurel Volunteer Rescue Squad extricated Jackie Wayne Fulcher, who was alone in the vehicle. He was taken to an area hospital where he later died.

Investigators believe Fulcher’s car left the road and hit a curb before hitting the high school, causing “superficial damage.” No students or staff were in the building when the incident happened, according to the police department.
