Laurel Officer Shot While Serving Arrest Warrant: Police
Authorities said the suspect fired a gun from inside their home after the team of officers announced themselves.
LAUREL, MD — A Laurel police officer was shot Wednesday morning while attempting to serve an arrest warrant in an attempted murder case, authorities said.
The shooting happened shortly after 6 a.m. at a residence in the 100 block of Bryan Court. When the team of officers announced themselves, the suspect fired from inside the residence, striking one officer.
The suspect was taken into custody, police said. The injured officer was taken to a hospital for treatment. His injuries were non-life-threatening, police said.

Police said there is no ongoing danger to the community.
