County School System Receives A+ for Website—What Are Your Thoughts?

Do you think the website deserved its A+ rating?

The Anne Arundel County Public Schools' (AACPS) website was rated the best in the state Monday by Sunshine Review, a non-profit group that evaluates government and state transperency, according to a recent release from AACPS. 

Conducted by the editors of the not-for-profit group, the ratings were based on a list of ten categories and their availability on the site. Taxes, budgets, elected officials, contracts, public records, background checks and are more were each analyzed by the Sunshine Review, resulting in an A+ rating for Anne Arundel County, the only county to receive such a score. 

Kristin McMurray, a senior editor of Sunshine Review, emphasized the importance of transparency  within school districts, and said, "It is crucial for parents and taxpayers to have access to copmlete information."

Anne Arundel County Public Schools' website provided easy access to test scores, demographics and enrollment, according to the release. 

The key component of the survey was based on the availability of information specific to these ten categories, but we want to know, how has your experience been with the school's website.
