Firefighters found the victim unresponsive on the first floor of the building and pulled her out, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. Additional information on the person who died was not available as officials worked to notify family members.
The fire department said investigators were still working to determine the cause of the fire, but that it caused about $150,000 in damages.

The Red Cross was notified to assist four people displaced by the fire.

Neighbors said the house was occupied by at least one woman who they knew to be blind.
If the woman's death is officially ruled to be fire-related, it will be the sixth in the county this year.
